The butterfly bathed it wings in the sunlight. Quietly and gently, the wind tossed the long blades of grass to the south, sending in a cool breeze from the east. The sun was high in the morning blue sky that held it up. Few clouds could be seen, only the light, almost transparent streaks here and there. The flowers, lusting with themselves, seemed to care less about the world around them. They just dance and showed off their bright, but soothing colors to anyone whom cared enough to look at them. The only disturbance to this beautiful scene; the small dog on it’s lower haunches, ready to pounce upon the sleeping insect. In fact, she stood out amongst the flowers so much that it was a surprise the butterfly didn’t notice her and take off. The sky blue coat she wore almost glowed in the sunlight that poured over her. Still, she looked on with deep purple eyes, scanning the area to make sure no other pooch was about to snatch her pray before her.

“Arf! Gotcha!” Kaya yelped out as she jumped up from the grass and florals. The insect quickly took notice and fluttered off to the blue sky, letting the wind take it south. The Jack Russell fell to the dirt and rolled over onto her back, revealing her pink, black speckled belly. Her amethyst eyes seemed to glow for a moment as her Sunner power kicked in. It was like she could zoom in on anything around her, and it was as though the butterfly were only a few centimeters from her face. But in actuality, it was yards away from her reach. She whined quietly and rolled back over. Her jade patched ebony mask made her eyes one of the most striking details about her, aside from the lavender star on her back. “Stupid bugs…” she panted, bored with today’s low activity of smaller animals. She much rather be chasing a rabbit, or a cat! They gave her more of a challenge, but neither of the two seemed to show their faces today. Kaya huffed and looked up at the streaked clouds above her, waiting for excitement.
